Where to find belly dance

You may already have encountered belly dance at Greek, Middle Eastern or other ethnic restaurants, especially on the weekend. Or perhaps you caught a belly dance show at the Heritage festival one year.

Also, watch your Vue and See magazine listings under DANCE for upcoming recitals, especially early April and early December. These community events display a wide variety of forms of Middle Eastern dance, and skill levels from beginner to expert.

Classes

There are many belly dance teachers operating in Edmonton. As a starting point, Shira keeps a list of Alberta instructors. Find someone near you and try it out, or if you see a great dancer, ask her (or him) where s/he learned!
